Today we have good news, Samsung announced that a free software upgrade to Android 2.2 Froyo now available for samsung GT-I9000 Galaxy S Vibrant. But the bad news is only canadian galaxy s to get upgraded.

Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant smartphone is available through Bell Mobility. The new revamped features in the 2.2 OS include adobe flash player 10.1. Press reader now available for reading multi channel newspapers and magazine. Google maps improved with voice guidance. Google Places to view the location of friends or perform local searches for spots like restaurants, businesses, attractions, and bank machines; and home screen tips and a setup wizard to aid in configuring the device to one’s liking

The user experience of the phone will also be improved through Froyo.Owners will now be able to use Google, Translate, Wikipedia, or Dictionary in the Search In browser without having to navigate away from the original Web page. Pinch zoom can be used to preview the home screen, menu, and camera; and the Quick Panel has been optimized for access to functions like screen rotation and lock. There’s also now a dedicated voice search button; and the horizontal UI is supported when the phone is docked in a cradle.

The Android 2.2 upgrade is available via Kies, Samsung’s software upgrade program that can be downloaded at the Samsung mobile website at http://www.samsungmobile.com. The upgrade will be available later this month for the Samsung Galaxy S Captivate (Rogers) and Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate 3G+
