LG Optimus 3D officially announced in Mobile World Congress 2011. The details specs of the new LG Optimus 3D has been leaked for a while today. So what is the improvement of the new smartphone, is there are any important thing we should know for this new version. Please check some note below.

Processor and Memory

The LG Optimus 3D uses a different dual core processor compared to the commonly known NVIDA Tegra 2 (which is used in many devices to date). LG Optimus 3D processor is a 1GHz Dual-core AND dual-channel TI OMAP4. In addition, the LG Optimus 3D also comes with a 4GB LP DDR2. In short, the LG Optimus 3D is the first smartphone ever to use the “Tri-Dual” technology: Dual-Core, Dual-Channel, and Dual-Memory.

According to a recent benchmark result of the LG Optimus 3D, the LG Optimus 3D got a benchmark number that is close to 3000; a number that shows to the other competitors that LG Optimus 3D is currently the fastest smartphone available.

Needless to say, the LG Optimus 3D got a great performance and also have a significantly faster data transfer between the dual core and dual memory. Multitasking is a breeze and games with higher frame rates is an easy task.

Camera

Another thing that makes the LG Optimus 3D different than the other smartphones is its camera. The LG Optimus 3D got a dual camera on the back of the phone; which allows you to make 3D videos. Again, this is the first time ever a smartphone is designed to be able to do that. Not only that you are able to make 3D videos, you can also share and view 3D videos on LG Optimus 3D.

According to the official specs, the LG Optimus 3D camera is able to make a 3D video in 720p HD video. And if you’re not into 3D, you can turn off the 3D features and you can shoot a 2D 1020p HD video. The camera of LG Optimus 3D is a 5 megapixel dual lens camera.

To support the 3D of the LG Optimus 3D; LG presented LG’s unique 3D Hot Key which give you five 3D-dedicated UIs, including Gallery, Camera, Game&Apps, YouTube 3D and 3D Guide

Display Screen

Another thing that is unique in this LG Optimus 3D is the display screen. The LG Optimus 3D uses a WVGA display screen with a 480×800 px resolution. But there’s a catch. This screen is able to display 3D Videos thanks to the 3D parallax barrier screen. So after you record a 3D videos, you can watch your 3D videos without having to use any 3D glasses. Cool.

Other notable specs

Other notable specs of the LG Optimus 3D is an internal 8GB memory, a 1500mAh battery, “4G” HSPA+ connectivity, and also HDMI 1.4 and DLNA connectivity to share media to other devices.

Preview and First Impression

So below are some videos of LG Optimus 3D. The first two is a promo video coming from LG; highlighting some of the key features of LG Optimus 3D. The third one is the LG Optimus 3D preview and first impression taken in the MWC 2011 event. Enjoy the videos after the break!

Conclusion

The LG Optimus 3D is certainly an original and fresh idea. So far at the MWC 2011 there are two devices that caught my attention, the LG Optimus 3D and also the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play. While the XPERIA Play focuses on gaming features; the LG Optimus 3D offers a fresh and new media entertainment. You can also direct a 3D movie without having to purchase expensive equipment! LG Optimus 3D also has a darn fast hardware specs; and with their tri-dual technology; I think that the LG Optimus 3D Android smartphone will do well this year.
