HTC has announced the new smartphone from their Desire Generation named HTC Desire S. Other notable specs include a 1.1GB of phone storage and 768MB of RAM, together with a microSD card slot.It will run on Android 2.4 Gingerbread. The HTC Desire S also has a rather interesting design, with a unibody aluminum shell. Feel sturdy enough.
HTC Desire S is set to be the successor of original HTC Desire, but interestingly little are changed in this new HTC Desire S. The screen is also 3.7-inch, the camera is the same 5 MP, but some other things have changed, even if not much. The processor is still a single-core 1 GHz affair, but this is the one also found in the Desire HD, and it’s a newer generation that the Snapdragon inside the Desire.
The HTC Desire S does brings some improvements and new features; such as a new, front-facing camera for video calls, and the new and updated Sense interface and widget suite with a new app called “Mirror” . This app allows you to quickly turn the Desire S into a mirror replacement. What you don’t get is NFC; while Google is pushing for the short-range wireless technology’s adoption by Android OEMs, HTC told SlashGear that it felt the extra bulk an NFC module would introduce wasn’t worth it given the limited availability of NFC services.
