iPhone 3GS (speed) will come in the next few week, more improvements like speed, video, voice control and many more. It also now supports 7.2Mbps HSDPA for speedier Web browsing. Battery life seems to be an improvement on the iPhone 3G’s. The resolution of the camera has been boosted to 3 megapixels, and it now has an autofocus feature, as well as video-recording capability. The voice-control feature lets you dial contacts, but also allows you to activate the iPod player by asking for a particular music track or artist. A digital compass has been added for souped-up location services

Battery life
Though battery life on the first iPhone was mostly satisfactory, the iPhone 3G sucks up juice rapidly. Indeed, you’re lucky if your handset lasts longer than a day of heavy use. Luckily, the iPhone 3G S offers some hope. Schiller rattled off statistics that certainly sound promising. It should offer 9 hours of Wi-Fi battery life, 10 hours on video playback, 30 hours on audio playback, 12 hours 2G talk time, and 5 hours 3G talk time. Like with the processor, we’ll have to wait for our review unit to see if these ratings hold up, but we like what we’re hearing so far.

Camera
Up until now, the iPhone’s camera has been good, but far from great. Though picture quality is decent, camera editing features on the first two iPhones are nonexistent. The minimalist shooters bothered us so much that we began to worry if Apple was leading a new trend of “dumbing down” cell phone cameras.

The iPhone 3G S, however, has helped put some of those fears to rest. Apple boosted the camera’s resolution to 3 megapixels and it added an autofocus feature. In the future, you’ll also get settings for white balance, exposure, low-light sensitivity, and a macro mode for close-up photos. The autofocus feature appeared to work well during the keynote so we’re looking forward to testing it ourselves.

Video recording
When we last asked about video recording at the OS 3.0 announcementin March, Apple wouldn’t comment on whether it would come to the iPhone. So we have to admit that we weren’t expecting it to happen anytime soon. But thanks to its improved camera, the iPhone 3G S will offer the ability to record VGA clips at 30 frames per second. It also promises a nifty editing feature that will let you trim clips to your liking. And once you’re done, you can upload them to YouTube with just a couple of clicks. Again, it looked good onstage so we’re excited to check it out.

Voice Control
We’ve long berated Apple for not including voice dialing on the iPhone. So when we heard that it would be on the iPhone 3G S, our initial reaction was a cynical “it’s about time.” Yet, our hearts softened just the slightest bit when we saw that the new Voice Control feature will go far beyond just voice dialing and commands.

Sure, you’ll be able to dial a contact using your voice, but you’ll also be able to activate the iPod player by asking for a particular music track or artist. What’s more, you can use Voice Control to identify a song by name and you can ask to play related tracks (as they’re associated in the iTunes Genius feature). Seeing those additional features almost makes us forgive Apple for taking so long to add something as basic as voice dialing, but not quite.

Compass
We were a little skeptical when we heard that the new iPhone might offer a digital compass. Yet, Schiller confirmed that the rumors were true. Like any other compass it will automatically point to north, but it also will integrate with Google Maps to point you in the right direction. A nice touch, to be sure.

What didn’t we get?
Fortunately, this list is getting shorter with each incarnation of the iPhone. Though OS 3.0 adds many notable missing features like multimedia messaging, turn-by-turn directions and stereo Bluetooth, there are a few capabilities still lacking. Flash support for the Safari browser, app folders for the home screen and USB mass storage are just a few. And hey, though we know that we’ll never get it, we’ll throw in a user-replaceable battery too.

So should you buy it?
Like we said earlier, the iPhone 3G S offers some notable feature improvements, but it doesn’t offer quite the same leap that the iPhone 3G offered over the first-generation model. If you don’t own an iPhone yet, and you’ve been waiting around to see what happens, now is the time to go for it. The same goes for iPhone Classic owners who never made the jump to the iPhone 3G.

But, if you’re a current iPhone 3G owner, the answer isn’t so clear. If you’re eligible to upgrade at the cheaper prices ($199 or $299), then we suggest doing so, as long as you remember that a new two-year contract is required. If you own an iPhone 3G, but are not eligible for the upgrade yet, then we recommend waiting. As much as the iPhone 3G S brings, it’s not worth the extra $200 that both the 16GB and 32GB models will cost you. In the meantime, you will get the new OS 3.0 features when they’re released for the iPhone 3G on June 17. But not only that, you’ll have extra money to spend on apps.

This update to the original iPhone adds 3G data, GPS, and a new shape on the back side. An updated OS supports third-party software, plus corporate email, sync, and VPN features. Other features are similar, including a large multi-touch display, full web browser, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, iPod music player, 2 megapixel camera, and up to 16 GB of internal memory.

The device it’s self is slick. The touchscreen is super responsive. You will not find a better browser for the web on your phone. This device is more of a toy then it is a cell phone. I get piss poor service where I live with this phone for some reason (st louis) and that was the main thing for me I wanted this phone because it was attractive and just like everyone else at the time i didn’t care if it couldn’t send a mms I just wanted it because it was the “it” product just like everyone else that won’t admit it.

pros

responsive screen

beautiful crisp screen.

Internet browser.

cons

no mms

no video

bad service /dropped calls.

even tho apple just announced 3.0 software its a little to late for alot of people. There are touch phones out now that are just as good if not better then the iphone like the eternity by samsung.

The phone is not one of the thinnest out there, but not that thick also.. it’s also narrower and longer compared to the iphone and it’s generally because of the 3.2 in. widescreen display.. the phone really feels good to hold..the user interface is very intuitive and easy to use! but i’d actually prefer the software to be s40 instead of s60 for it to becaome more easy to use and intuitive..

First of, the phone comes with a lot of accessories together with the package.

stylus

Hard carrying case

Wrist strap

Stand for movie watching and slide shows

Additional stylus

Stereo hands-free/headphones for a 3.5mm jack

microUSB cable

TV-out cable

Wall Charger

8 GB microSD card

DVD

User Manual

Can’t think of any accessories that i’ll be needing.. well, aside from upgrading it to 16 gigs memory and a screen protector since this is a touch screen phone. i liked the case that came with it cause it’s made from hard rubber and you can slide the phone from either side.. the phone generally looked good, i liked the red one.. it’s the color that i bought.. the blue one looked pale in color.

when it comes to connectivity, it packs a lot! it has wi-fi, stereo bluetooth, gps, mms, sms, video calling capable, can of course do internet and e-mail and on and on..webpage rendering is as is on a pc and very easy to navigate..

when it comes to text input, the phone offers a lot of options from full qwerty to standard alphanumerics to handwriting recognition and also has a mini qwerty.. very good sound quality, the best that i’ve heard from a mobile phone! both on speakerphone and with supplied headset! has very good screen for watching movies and browsing through pictures due to it’s high resolution and bright display..

the only cons for me about this phone would be the earpiece when it comes to making calls, you would need to move the earpiece around your ear and find a good spot to hear the other end and that it’s an s60 os, aside from that a very good phone!

I believe from young to old there is something for everyone. I purchased the amber accent color though the green might work well for younger people. The phone is 3G and if you live in a TMO 3G area this phone really rocks. T-Zones load quickly, Internet access is excellent and the browser works well. Text messages send almost immediately and email is just as fast.

The camera is OK at best … no cover, no flash but it does take a nice clean picture. The phone’s screen is excellent, large bright and easy to read. The menus are very user friendly and offer quite a few options from the usual wallpaper and ringtones to actually using the phone as a remote control. Call quality is pretty standard. I would suggest this inexpensive, solid built phone for just about anyone.

From a distance, there is little to set the Storm apart from the increasingly crowded field of touch-based devices. It’s black and has gray and silver accents. RIM did not stretch any design boundaries here. It is sophisticated and elegant, but not unique.

Though the width is nearly identical to that of devices such as the iPhone, the added girth around the waist makes it feel way bigger in your hand. It fills your palm completely. Because the Storm is shaped a bit like a trapezoid (when viewed from the side); the front surface is actually larger than the back surface. You can feel this when you try to wrap your hands all the way around the Storm. It feels big. Darned big. It is solid, but not overly weighty. You’re going to notice it in your pocket.

There are five buttons on the front of the Storm. The first is the screen itself. Yes, it’s one big-ass button. The screen has just about the same travel and feedback over its entire surface, though the corners have a bit more flex to them. There is a very satisfying click when you press the screen…most of the time.

Below the screen are four more buttons: the send key, BlackBerry key, Back key and End key. All four have good travel and feedback. Sliding your thumb from the screen down to these four buttons makes them easy to find. It is a bit difficult to differentiate between the keys as you slide your thumb across the four buttons from side to side, though.

Along the top edge of the phone are two keys. On the left is the lock/unlock key and on the right is the mute/silence key. These keys are pretty well hidden, and you may not notice them at first. They are built into the plastics of the Storm, so there is no way to tell that your thumb is on them. Thankfully, they are all the way up against the Storm’s outer edge, so find the edge with your thumb, and you’ve found the button.

On the left side of the phone is the voice-command key. I’ll be darned if I wasn’t pressing it every five seconds and accidentally starting the voice-command application. This really ticked me off. It’s just too easy to press. It has three little bumps on it that make it very findable. Just below it is the microUSB port for charging and data transfer.

The right side holds the 3.5mm headset jack at the very top. Just below it is the volume toggle / camera zoom key. The key is very easy to find, but travel and feedback are a bit mushy. Last up is the two-stage camera key. This button sticks up a bit more, and has two distinct clicks as you press to focus the camera and take a picture.

The back surface of the Storm is brushed metal, which I have to say I really like. In order to remove it, you have to press two clasps on either side of it simultaneously. Only then will it come off. Under it is the battery, microSD slot (hot swapping is possible) and the Verizon Wireless SIM card.

Today the most wanted company APPLE release their New iPod Shuffle which is more thin than before. With 4GB storage you can grab your favorite song to this new iPod shuffle. This new iPod has 2 color black and aluminum, they also bring new feature like voice over who will tell you about the song that is running, artist, title and all information in their playlist.

Easy access controls.
The controls of the new iPod shuffle are located on the right earbud cord. With command central now strategically placed in this more convenient location, you can navigate your music — and activate the VoiceOver feature — without taking your eyes off your run, your ride, or whatever you’re doing.

Introducing VoiceOver.
Musically speaking, the new iPod shuffle is brilliant, thanks to an exciting new feature called VoiceOver. Say you’re listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist. With the press of a button, VoiceOver tells you as the music dips down. It even announces the names of your playlists. And when your battery needs charging, VoiceOver tells you that, too.

Multiple playlists.
You’ve probably made multiple playlists in iTunes. One for your commute. One for the gym. One for just chilling out. With the new iPod shuffle, you can sync your playlists and always find the perfect mix for your activity or mood. VoiceOver tells you the name of each playlist, so it’s easy to switch between them and find the one you want without looking.
